Lubu Mani with a holiday twist

So I totally lied and ended up doing my nails today. Just couldn't wait I guess!!

Here is the mani I came up with for the weekend of Christmas parties! Friday, there's a party at my house with close family friends. On Saturday is my work Christmas party. We're going to see the National Ballet of Canada perform "The Nutcracker" on opening night and riding the party bus all the way to downtown Toronto! Sunday, I'm meeting up with my Puppy for our gift exchange and hopefully to watch CON: Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Monday, is a triple date with sushi dinner!

First some swatches! (Which I've never really done before Konading so this is my first time! Yay me!) And as always my base coat is Orly Bonder and top coat is Seche Vite.

Here's a swatch of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Red Carpet. Apparently, it's a dupe of China Glaze Ruby Pumps so I'm pumped! (Pun fully intended...sorry)

This is with one coat and taken in natural light.

I painted over Red Carpet with China Glaze in Lubu Heels. LOVE this polish!

This was a two coater, taken in natural light.

Close up of bombastic glitter!!!

So I added the same image I used from my last Konadicure from image plate m64. I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Celeb City for stamping. For the dots, I used the striper brush from LA Colors Art Deco in silver glitter and SH Red Carpet. I don't have fancy shmancy rhinestones...so I had to improvise. :(

This was taken with flash in indoor light.

This was taken without flash in indoor light.

I'm hoping to have this last me a week, which is the longest time I will have a Konadicure on!

'Til the next Konadicure!

Forgetfulness and MAJOR HAUL!

Ok so remember the Konadicure that I was talking about in my last post? The one that looks like wrapped gifts? I made a boo boo and removed it without taking a pic of it in my camera. =( WHOMP.

But I did manage to take a pic of it on my Blackberry so here is the blurry goodness.

Base coat was Orly Bonder and Top coat was Seche Vite.
Base colour was Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Blue It and stamping colour was Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Rave Review Critique.
Image plate used was m64.

Blue It was such a PITA to remove. It stained like a mother!!

Here are the loser shots of me and Puppy with our "holiday manis"

We couldn't stop laughing while taking the pictures! =D

So yesterday I decided to stop by the Winners by my house and see what I can add to my Christmas kit for Chel a.k.a. Puppy. I found some great things to add! LOOK WHAT I FOUND!

Color Club sets! I couldn't believe my eyes! I picked up 2 Wild at Heart sets, one for me and one for my Puppy.

The Wild Heart set includes
Love 'Em/ Leave 'Em (beige-y holo)
Wild and Willing (multi-chromatic pearly shimmer)
On the Wild Side (Gunmetal frost)
Rule Breaker (Teal shimmer)
Wild at Heart (Purple holo)
With Abandon (Black/dark brown base with bronze/gold shimmers)

I can't wait to try out Wild at Heart but I have to wait until after my next Konadicure that I've got planned. I'm going to be using China Glaze Lubu Heels, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Red Carpet and Celeb City and image plate m64.

My nails are au naturale for today...just some Sally Hansen Triple Strong on it. But wait til tomorrow cuz I'm gonna get my Konad on!

Konad date and Mini-haul

So this past Thursday I had to gone to my Puppy's house for our Konad date. We ate taquitos and potato wedges while watching Criminal Minds before doing our nails. We ended up doing manis that felt like holiday manis! Hers looked like a Christmas tree and mine looked like wrapped gifts so we took pictures of our nails together like losers. LOL!

Today, we had gone to Sally's to look for the China Glaze holiday 2010 nps but to no avail as it was sold out with no hope of restocking. I was thoroughly disappointed, but with a sale like buy 2 get 1 free, I just couldn't pass it up. So I picked up For Audrey, Lubu Heels and Long Kiss. I'm so excited to change my mani sometime either on Tuesday or Wednesday! Saw that there was this thing called a "Lubu Mani" but methinks my nails are too short for it. I'm planning Lubu Heels with Long Kiss as an accent nail. If I can't do the "Lubu Mani" China Glaze style, I'll do it my own way!

Pics of current konadicure and next manicure will be posted soon!!

My very own Hidden Treasure

Presenting...my very own swatch of Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure!!

I'm sure you've all seen hundreds of swatches over tons of different colours but I wanna show mine too!!

I used Sally Hansen Triple Strong and Orly Bonder as my base coat and also my trusty Seche Vite as top coat.

The base colour I used was CQ in Mystical which I picked up from Rite Aid during my last border cross for $2!!

I happened to stop by Pharma Plus on my way home from work 2 days ago and just peeked at the Sally Hansen Complete Manicure display. I was so sad cuz I didn't see Hidden Treasure right away until I started reading the names and BOOM!! Right there in the middle....HIDDEN TREASURE!! I snatched it up like nobody's business and almost danced in the aisle. I had to BBM my Puppy and share the great news! And BONUS it was 30% off so I ended up only paying a little over $5 for it!

Couldn't sleep last night so I ended up looking at swatches of HT online until I couldn't take it anymore and did my nails at 3 am.

So, enough talk...here is one coat of HT over 2 coats of Mystical.

This was taken right by my window.
 Close up of flakie goodness!

One more shot for posterity. :)

In indoor light it flashes magenta...oh the prettiness!! I can't stop staring at my nails! I never wanna take this off...until I get my holos that is!

This is a shot using indoor light but my camera hates me and won't capture how vibrant of a magenta it is!!! GRRRR. I wish you were all beside me so we can "Ooohh" and "Aaahh" over the gorgeousness. It looks like my nails are on fire!

Until the next Konad/manicure!

Nail Polish haul!!!

Ok, so my awesome Puppy went across the border for Black Friday. She picked up a whole bunch of nail polishes for the both of us. She was kind enough to pick me up 3 Color Club holo glitters in silver, black and gold!! I'm super super excited about it!

But, since we're greedy now with holos, we've decided to order Worth the Risqué and Revvvolution online! From no holo to a whole bunch of them!!

She's putting together a kit for me as my Christmas gift and I'm putting one together for her as well!! I can't wait for us to exchange gifts!

Plus...I got my long-awaited and long searched for Sally Hansen Hidden Treasure!!! That name is so fitting cuz it's not readily available and you gotta just find it with good timing! And it was on sale too so even better! I would've grabbed two but it was the very last one on the display! Can't wait to layer that baby over black creme but maybe no Konad stamp with it?

KOTWs

Wow haven't updated in ages!! Sorry about that...just a mixture of busyness and laziness. LOL!
Ok so moving on to the KOTWs. In all these Konadicures I used Orly Bonder as a base coat and Seche Vite as a top coat.
I call this Bronzed Henna.

Base colour was Wet n Wild Craze in Rustic, stamping colour was Sally Hansen in Rave Review Critique. I used image plate m64.

My boyfriend said "It looks like a bandanna" when he saw this Konadicure, therefore it has been dubbed Bandanicure. LoL!

Base colours are Wet n Wild in Black Creme and Rimmel in Grey Matter, stamping colours were vice-versa'd.

Image plate used was m64.

I was so gung-ho about taking a pic of this mani that I failed to clean around the sides before snapping a pic of it! FAIL!

My boyfriend said this looked like winter so I'm naming it Black Frost.

Base Colour is Sally Hansen Silver Lining, stamping colour was Wet n Wild in Black Creme.

Image plate used was s6.

Taken with flash.

Taken without flash.

For some reason, I got tired of this one real quick and couldn't wait to change my nails. =( It made my hands look dirty for some reason. Weird??

Current KOTW. Silver Sculptured Tips.

For the tips I used Finger Paints in Silver Sculpture. For the design I used China Glaze in Grape Pop and LA Colors Art Deco in silver glitter.

The image plates used were m19 for the tips and s6 for the design.

Until the next Konadicure!

Purple Pearl and Wallpaper on Peacock

I've done two Konadicures since coming back from NYC. My Flower Power was good during the trip but I had to change it once I got home.

This one is just a variation of my Flower Power. This picture was taken after 5 days of wear...I realized I haven't taken a picture of it yet and I was planning on changing my Konadicure today.
I used China Glaze Grape Pop and Finger Paints Well-Cultured Pearl as base colours and switched them up for stamping. For this I had tried the "Sticky Sandwich" method.

I used Orly Bonder as a base coat and then applied my base colours on top. Then another coat of Orly Bonder then another layer of base colour. Then ANOTHER layer of Orly Bonder then my Seche Vite Top Coat.

As you can see, no chipping, very very minimal tip wear.

My current Konadicure is what I call Wallpaper on Peacock.

For Base Coat I used Orly Bonder and I did the "Sticky Sandwich" method again. Then I used Joe in Peacock for my base colour. Then for stamping I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails in Rave Review Critique which my friend told me about. I love stamping with it! I never ONCE had to re-do a stamp! I used M65 for the flowers and vines. Then Seche Vite for my top coat.

Doesn't it look like wallpaper? =D

I've been a very bad girl. I had gone to Sally's and bought 3 Finger Paints nail polishes in Well-Cultured Pearl, Silver Sculpture and Hue Rang? I also ordered 4 plates before I left for NYC and a week later I got my haul!! I bought M64, M65, S6 and S9. If you're wondering where I order my supplies from, I order from www.wowsocool.com. They send your orders pretty fast and if your order is $20 or more, they ship for free to U.S. and Canada!

'Til the next Konadicure!
